Who Transcribes NYC's 400-Year-Old Records?
The City of New York is now transcribing records dating to 1660 to help historians and everyday residents locate records documenting enslaved New Yorkers. The Dept. of Records is calling for volunteers to help with transcribing as it builds the searchable database. I shot and edited this video for NYC Dept. of Records and Information Services.
